Stash Busting Challenge Update
10:45 AMA quick update on the 2012 Stash Busting Challenge started by Kelly over at Creating a Family Home. First off, I should have counted the skeins of yarn in my stash. All I did was take a picture of the stash on the coffee table. I do know that I started with eight skeins of a light blue yarn that I used to make my Radiating Star Blanket. I used six skeins of yarn. I made the original blanket and then did the extended pattern to make it a bit bigger. All of the skeins of blue yarn were from the same dye lot. I didn't notice that some of it was a lighter blue than the rest. I noticed it first when I spread the blanket out to take a picture of the finished project. Luckily it looks like I had intended the pattern. There are a couple of mistakes...like a knit instead of a yarn over. But I'm not sure if anyone would notice if they are not a knitter.

That blanket looks wonderful! The cat is also a good size comparison to get an idea of how large the blanket turned out to be. : ) How many blankets are you planning on producing?
ReplyDeleteI"m not sure how many blankets I'll make. I counted up the yarn stash and I have 35 skeins of yarn. That is not counting the very tiny left over skeins. All of that yarn was given to me by the head of the local Linus Project before she retired and moved so I feel that what I make should be given back to them.
