Knitting this Week

6:00 AM

It's Wednesday again and that means it is once again time for the weekly yarn along.  I'm joining with Ginny and everyone to share yarn and books.  It's been forever since I've played along.  I've been busy with work and just haven't been knitting.

I have worked so sporadically on my Sylvi that it always takes me a few minutes to figure where I am in the pattern.  I make notations on the pattern, but I still have to review.  I just finished the right front and while I lost track of the number of rows, I think it will all work out in the end.  I am know ready to begin the back of this sweater and I'm kind of freaking out about that.  Mostly because of the intricacy of the cables, I will have to really pay attention to what I am doing.  That means I will not be working on sweater at crafting or at home.  This is strictly a go sit a quiet spot and create project.

I have just finished Storm Front by John Sanford.  It is a suspense novel in the Virgil Flowers series.  I had been listening to it on audio CD in my car on the way to work.  I couldn't get disc 5 to play so I took it back to the library and ordered another copy.  I think they gave me back the same copy!  Disc 5 didn't play.  So I checked out the ebook and finished it.  The person who read the audio book did a wonderful job and I wish I could have finished it that way.  His tone of voice and the way he read Virgil had me laughing like a crazy woman in my car.

Happy Yarn Along Wednesday!

  1. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has to review to find where I am in a pattern. I had the pattern Acer put up for so long I ended up frogging the body because I was so lost.
You will do just fine on the cables I'm sure, just go to your quiet spot :)

  2. Sylvi is looking great! I am the same way - I don't always mark down where the heck I left off in the project and have to search my way through it.

  3. About the hitofude: that provisional cast one was a tricky one alright - I watched videos and tutorials but still didn't manage to get it to unwind properly! The 3-needle bind off was actually kind of fun - I used a 2 circular needles and then a cable needle to actually knit and bind off the stitches and it worked great! Good luck with yours I love the yellow!

and your Sylvi is knitting up beautifully!

  7. Its going to be an awesome sweater when you are done - having to go knit in peace doesn't sound too bad either ;)

  8. remember stitch markers are your friend. If you mark when you do the cable in the ditch (between cables on the purls) you can usually count the rows up. That's what I do since I'm awful at keeping paper notes.

Love the sweater!! Looks fantastic :)

  9. I use little post-it arrows to mark where I am in a pattern but sometimes they fall off and then it's panic time. LOL. The back of your cardigan looks like it will be super fun to knit.
