Yarn Along

6:30 AM

It's time once again to join Ginny and others for the weekly Yarn Along.  Books and knitting!  Two of my favorite things.  I just finished Barbara Taylor Bradford's book A Letter From a Stranger.  It was OK.  I expected more of a suspense novel, but this wasn't it.  It was a good escape, but not a spectacular book.

I worked some more on the Log Cabin blanket.  It is now too big to take in my suitcase so I'll be working on it while we sit in the basement watching the Tour de France.  It's chilly down there, but it's where the big TV is.  I worked a little bit on this blanket.   Of course it is all randomly put together, but  I am really liking the colors that I've put together so far.

I picked up this James Patterson book at the Library last week.  I'm not a huge James Patterson fan, but I do like his "Women's Murder Club" books.  It is a quick read.  Each chapter is at most 3 pages long so it makes for a good read at night before I fall asleep.

Happy Yarn Along Wednesday!

  1. Great colors in your project! I haven't knit a blanket in years. It takes a long time compared to a sweater. Have fun knitting with a blanket to keep you warm!!

    1. That's funny, I think sweaters take longer. But you knit way faster than I do!

  2. So the project in the photo is the log cabin blanket? Look at that bright and exciting striping, I love it! But no matter how much I pressure my imagination, I cannot even begin to imagine how it is going to look in the end with so much color, it is going to be amazing!

    1. The blanket in this picture is just a random pattern. I cast on 200 K5P5 for 5 rows of color. I'll post about the Log Cabin blanket again later when it's gotten bigger. Thanks, I'm excited about it too.

    1. More like knitted rectangles, but all together rather than in pieces and stitching together. I found this particular pattern on a Garn Studio website that I stumbled on. Not sure I could find it again though.

  5. I use to be a huge Patterson fan and then he started really cranking them out too fast I think. It's been years since I read him so maybe he deserves another chance.

  6. Lol the short chapters is one of the reasons I love these books, you feel like you are whipping through them! Your log cabin blanket sounds so snuggly for knitting under!
